Unlike high performance landscape systems that require expensive high-power amplifiers, the Protege Landscape Series is designed to deliver an exceptional audio experience with lower power distributed audio amplifiers or extended audio zones (like Zone 2) from conventional AVRs. Protege can be expanded to up to an 8.2 system.
Not every outdoor space can accommodate an in-ground subwoofer, so in addition to the traditional In-Ground Subwoofer, Protege introduces an all-new Hardscape above-ground Subwoofer. Ideal for locations such as brick or stone patios, second-floor balconies, areas with extra rocky soil or ground with a high water table. The Hardscape Subwoofer includes stainless steel mounting screws for surface mounting and aluminum tent stakes for securing in a garden bed.
The weatherproof fiberglass reinforced ABS enclosures are rugged, ensure years of reliable performance and are able to stand up to any weed whackers and outdoor lawn equipment. Both the Burial and Hardscape Subwoofers are built using a weatherproof, low-noise Rotational Molded Polyethylene enclosures. And both include a high-excursion eight-inch DVC woofer with rubber surround and includes a 2nd order crossover on both channels.
Proficient Protege satellite speakers feature the same ‘quick connect’ design found in our high-performance Landscape series. We even include a handy hammer cap that protects the stake from damage when pounding it into the ground. This allows for the speaker to be attached to the stake after the stake is inserted into the ground attachment to the stake. Once attached, the speaker can be rotated and tilted to the optimal angle, then tightened into place with the ergonomic thumbscrew.
Expand your system up to an 8.2 configuration by putting 2 kits together or by adding additional satellites via the PAS-2.0 two-speaker expansion kit.
